Humans Sent to Mars By 2018
I just read an article on National Geographic about a private space company that will be sending a couple on a fly by of Mars in 2018.
Millionaire Dennis Tito, who in 2001 paid $20 million to spend 6 days on the international space station and hence become the first space tourist, is behind the non-profit venture. The plan is to develop a spaceship and send two people on a fly by past Mars in January 2018, when Mars and Earth are at an especially close point in their 15-year cycle.
Caribbean Holiday, Time to Relax
Not that I really need a holiday from my beautiful home in Whistler, British Columbia, but during the winter season we are very very busy at the bar that I work at. We have about 5 months out of the year that is GO time. Busy 7 nights a week.
So come May, it is always nice to take a holiday from my holiday. Last year we had a record season in terms of sales, and everyone had made a bunch of money, so a whole bunch of us decided to go to the dominican republic.
The bar I work at isn’t that big, but it is a decent size, and we managed to get 22 of us to all go on this trip!!
So we closed the bar down end of april, and started getting pumped, then we found out the boss had hired a party bus to take us to the airport. So the adventure began in a great way.
So we make it to the airport on time and all that and about 9 (or 10) hours later we arrive in the sunny and warm, beautiful Dominican Republic.
